Subject: power steering pump IP: Logged
Message: I have posted on here about this problem, but hasn't been fixed. I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota, It has 305/75/16 inch tires, a 3 inch body lift and the torsion bars are cranked all the way. Over the past year, I have put 9 pumps into it. Would the cranked torsion bars be the reason for it blowing the pump all the time?

Message: Torsion bars would have nothing to do with the power steering. Are you doing a lot of off-roading? Continual inputs on the steering...especially when experiencing binding pressure (rock-crawling, negotiating obstacles, etc.) or just a lot of steering inputs at low speeds can heat the pump significantly, greatly reducing life expectancy
