Subject: 33's rub? how about 32's IP: Logged
Message: I have been reading several posts about the 'biggest sized tires you can put on a Dodge Dakota with a 3" body lift.' The majority of them say 33's will rub without some modifications with a sawzall. I have no problem throwing on 32's if they don't rub. These need to be somewhat beefy offroad tires because I live in New England and our winters blow. I am a firefighter/EMT and also work in construction so this truck needs to handle crappy roads in worse conditions at random times. I have on right now are 245/70R/16 on a 2004 Dakota SXT Quad Cab 3.7L V6. I am looking for something that looks aggressive, fills the extra gap made by the 3" lift kit, and is still an on and off-road tire. Any suggestions that doesn't include me getting out the jaws of life to make some tires fit?

Message: Welcome Bostonmob !!! I think 32s should fit, thats what i got but be carefull some 32s measure the same as BFG 33s and dont try to go any wider than 11.5, also expect a drop in acceleration with the larger tires.

Message: I have a 97 5.2 with the PA 3" body lift and I run 32x11.5r15 Cooper STT's on my stock rims. They only rub at full lock against the front of the frame. But it's very minor and not against any sharp edges. I'm satisfied with the tires, they perform well.

Message: Kodiak Alaska, do you have any pictures of the truck and how it looks after cutting? I'm hesitant on cutting my wheel wells. Also do you have the stock fender flares like mine came with?
