Message: How much extra lift can I expect to get by swapping out rear leaf springs and front torsion bars from a durango on my truck?
99 dakota 4x4, V8, manual trans, 3" body lift, rear air bags, headers, cam, chip, exhaust

Message: Unless you are adjusting your current torsion bars and still not hitting the bumpstops, you will gain nothing from swapping front torsion bars. As far as rear springs, there has been 'talk' of it, but I have not seen anybody post anything on this site about actually doing it. So you could be the 1st to attempt it. Have you talked to the guy at your local parts store or dealer? They should be able to tell you if they are load rated the same, or which one is rated heavier. You may find that while they could have a higher arch, they may reduce your overall payload. I don't know the answer to this. ...But that is why we buy pickups, right?...to haul/ tow stuff? Good luck, and post your findings if you take this any further. That's what this site is all about.
