Subject: Questions about a body lift for a '91 IP: Logged
Message: So I'v been thinking about doing a 2" body lift on
my 1991 4X4 318 Dak to give it a better look, and if
I ever wanted bigger tires. What issues might i face
when installing this? Is there anything that needs
to be replaced, changed, or modded in any way? And
how difficult would it be?
Thanks.

Message: Hey pete, you manual or auto? i went up 3" with a body lift and had no problems.People in the past have said the lower radiator hose got in the way of the fan or fan shroud or something but my fan is electric so that never came into play so keep an eye out for that one,but all in all it was pretty easy. You will have to extend the 4x4 shifter length, i used a threaded coupler and it worked perfect. All the lines coming off the gas tank were plenty long enough to accomodate 3 more inches from stock. So with a 2 inch you should be fine.

Message: a friend of mine was able to fit 31s on his stock
'93 dakota and said he only had issues with them
rubbing if he was turning sharp while going over big
bumps or anything that would really test the
suspension. so with the lift im guessing 31s would
be fine, but 33s might be pushing it. so maybe i
should look at 32s

Message: Be careful about the 32s though some mfgs 32 are the same as others 33s, when i bought my swampers i got 32s and they were the exact same height as the bfg 33 and it took all of my 3 inch body lift as well as 4 inch suspension lift as well as torsion bars fully cranked just to keep the tires from rubbing the tiny wheel wells on these genII trucks.
