Quadcabs are not good offroad rigs. You bought the wrong truck for that stuff.

The options for a 2000 dakota are limited.

1) you can do a body lift and fit bigger tires to add a little extra ground clearance.

2) you can install the ranch 3" lift. but this only fits with automatic transmission. You can then fit bigger tires. http://www.gorancho.com/products/suspension/dodge/0002dakota_durango_4wd.php

3) you can go with an airbag system. I've not researched much but heard it would work.

4) have a good shop do a custom lift. There's a few of these dakotas around, some were posted on here.

I would like to get the rancho kit for my 02 quad cab auto 4x4 but haven't because of cost and time. $3000+ to buy the kit and have a shop install it.

And after spending all that time and money, you have a funny-looking quadcab.
I stand by my statement: You bought the wrong truck for that stuff.
