One of my fishing buddies (who was also my real estate agent when I bought my house) has a friend that has found it in some small streams in the next county over.
There's a guy in my TU chapter who is now retired (owned a chain of convenience stores). His hobby is building log cabins. He has 4 or 5 on a piece of land he owns about 45 minutes north of me. He has them all decorated with artifacts he's found hiking/fishing. Besides the usual - arrow heads, various tools, he's found complete pottery.
one of my friends still has his gear though he hasn't used it in years. I'll have to get him to go along with me. He can show me how to pan and I can show him how to fly fish.
if anyone is ever around atlanta ga area, stop just north off I-75 in cartersville and go see the etowah indian mounds.
