i put a 3in. lift on my dakota and my nerf bars sat low on it. so the question is if i get a bull bar will it also sit low? i dont know where the bar hooks up to the truck.

I assume you mean a 3 inch body lift. It connects to the frame not the body so if you have a body lift it will sit low. I had the same problem so i cut the bracket and made it shorter and welded it back together. Now it is a perfect fit!

Wish I know someone who had the welding gear and would let me play around. I'd do some nice modifications like you have done to your truck bucket.

Well Dan, considering what it costs to have these things done by someone else, the $350.00 i spent on the welder probably saved me thousands, the safari rack i made was lets say 200.00 in steel yet for a basic lumber rack these guys around town want 6-7-8 hundred bucks,i would rather buy the welder which i can keep using year after year, than to pay someone possibly thousands for exactly the rack i want that will have to be custom made, and before i bought the welder i had no clue whatsoever on how to weld, that was probably 15 years ago,i've been welding ever since..... its great !!! not one week goes by where i dont weld something.I have a brush gaurd i bought last week at a metal supply store but its for a yukon so i know its cut/chop/weld/ time again.but the thing was so cheap i just had to buy it,next on the list will be to fab my own fender flares from sheet metal, and make my own bumpers, now is everything i make perfect?? hell no i screw up all the time but i have the time and patience to fix it,Besides.....ITS FUN !!!
