Subject: body lift 4x4 extension? IP: Logged
Message: I will soon be purchasing a 3" pa body lift for my 98, 4x4 (shifter on the floor), 318. I heard somewhere that I may need to weld something together to extend the 4x4 shifter. Is this true? Will I have to even mess with the 4x4 shifter at all? Appreciate any help.

Message: I have a 3" bl and my normal shifter was fine its the 4x4 shifter that needs to be extended just slightly,if your too far extended the shifter hits the underside of the dash,by the ashtray if your too short the shifter wont go the full range.I used a threaded sleeve or coupler from home-depot,it was easy fast and strong no welding needed its been on my truck now for many years and no prob.
