Message: how hard is it to install a 3 in body lift kit on a 99 ext cab dakota with a 5.2? it is 2wd.

The hard part is all the things you gotta do to after just to make sure it's still safe to drive:
Longer steering intermediate shaft
Longer brake hose/line front and rear
Longer shocks
If your doing this lift to put on larger tires, then you'll also need different rear end gearing to compensate.

Message: BS. You don't need longer shocks after installing a body lift. The only part of his post that was correct is the longer intermediate shaft (which is commonly included with the kit. The stock brake lines should have enough slack in them (the small coils just below the master cylinder) that you shouldn't need to install longer ones. You may need to extend the tranny cooler lines because there typically isn't a lot of slack in those. You also don't need to swap gears though it is recommended if you go with larger tires.
