Message: I have a 2005 Dakota and I'm trying to find a suspension lift for it. Nobody seems to make one, but I have heard that a person can make a Durago kit work on it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Message: You gotta admit the 2005 thru 2007 Dakota and its clone, the Mitsubishi Raider, are not all that appealing to the eye. Go ahead. Just try to admit it. I bet you can't handle the reality.
Just like the Pontiac Aztec. Ugly out loud. Like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
And the redesigned 2008 model is kinda retarded-looking, too.

Message: Personally I think the new Toyota trucks are about the UGLIEST thing on the road, but I know exactly why people buy them, because they don't think the same way I do. While I will grant you I think the 3rd gen Daks look better then the 4th gens do, but its still a Dakota! Show it some love man! If people keep thinking like you Dodge really will scrap the Dakotas.
As to the original question, I don't know of any suspension lifts but there is a 3in body lift for the newer Daks. Dakota sales have taken a beating since they changed the bodystyle, thats made the aftermarket a little skiddish to bring out a bunch of parts for what they consider a limited market.

Message: I dont know what the heck you all are talking about. The new dakota's are the best looking midsize truck on the market. I have a red 2005 and it looks much better than the sissy looking former body style. It actually looks like a mans truck now, and it looks like a baby Ram at that.

Message: People get bitter when there's a redesign. Basically, it makes their relatively late model Dakota look suddenly old because it doesn't match the new body styling. Not to mention that it destroys trade-in value. The minute a new style hits everyone with the old style just lost about 30% of their trade-in value.
I bought a Jetta in 2005 when the first batch of the new style hit the dealers. They were still selling the old body style in the same model year. I feel sorry for anyone that bought a Jetta in the months before. Their Jetta went from brand new to old looking the moment the new style hit the dealer lots.
Just like now, all the owners of the old style thought the new style looked like crap. Now it's a couple years later and people's old style 2005 Jettas look like they're 10+ year old.
The same is true for the new Dakotas. Everyone with the old style now looks like their driving around in their dad's hand-me-down truck.

Message: Bitter?! Dude you are way off base! I just am a fan of the smoother, rounder edge styling that the 3rd gen Daks have. I personally don't like the sharper edges that the new bodystyle has. I still like the new Daks just not as much, heck at least I stood up for the guy.
And as far as looking old, I don't give a hoot. I just bought a 79 Bronco a couple of months back, thats currently my 2nd favorite of the 5 vehicles I own right now(02 Dak, 99 Dak 4x4, 79 Bronco, 87 Mazda RX-7, and 90 RX-7). There's just something magical about the sound of a cammed big block Ford running through two 3in Flowmasters down the road at 65mph on 38in Ground Hawgs. Frankly if they had a Dak that old I would probably have one! The absolute coolest car ever made in my opinion was the 1970 Plymouth SuperBird, closely followed by the 1969 Dodge Dart GT 340 4sp.

Message: I would also like to know if any one knows of a lift for a 2005 Dakota. I would prefer a suspnesion lift over a body lift. Quit your arguing about what looks better, everyone has there own preference and you should respect that. I personally have 1954 Chevy 1/2 ton with a stroked 454, muncie 4-spd, and 4-link that I've been building for the past couple years that I LOVE; but all my buddies say it looks terrible. However, I digress and would like to know about the lift for my 2005 4.7L extended cab dakota.
