Message: OK, First step is - What are the details of your Dakota? Asking a question without stating year, & drive train details makes it a stupid question.

Message: When you go on these websites go to Ring and Pinion and then punch in your vehicle info and it should give you a list of axles that were available in your particular truck or it will just list one, double check, like the rear cover number of bolts etc to id it then when you click on the rear end you have it will give you the gears or ratios that are available.Ryan just remember none of us started out as Dakota pros but as you start to fix things on your truck you get more and more familiar with it and the parts and names and numbers get easier, the only reason i know a little about the gears is i just had mine done last year, after going with bigger tires, but there are alot of people in this forum that seem to be very well versed in these trucks and i like to go to these guys when i need something and i usually get the answer i am looking for,so your in the right forum.
