Message: Well i would say to go with a 2 inch body-lift,they are fairly inexpensive, and fairly easy to install, just look under your truck for the braces that hold it to the frame, then you take the bolts off as per mfgs instructions jack the truck cab and bed up,one at a time, and stuff in the two inch blocks and bolt it back down, now keep in mind its not quite that easy but it is pretty straight forward,I got mine from CarolinaClassicTrucks they were great people to deal with, they had what i wanted and i installed it myself and it took a little bit of lining things up but overall was fairly easy and you should like the look. good luck and let us know how it goes, PS a body lift is your only option for lifting the truck.

Message: hey man thanks a lot, i really appreciate the info... just one question: would it be possible to buy the parts, and have them proffessionally installed? again, i really have no idea when what im doing when it comes to stuff like this. would it be A LOT of extra money do you think? and do you think i might be able to do it myself with basically NO experience? my only fear is messing something up that might just end up costing me more money in the long run.
thanks again for all your help!

Message: You could have a shop install it for you but you're looking at atleast $70/hr for work. It took me about 10 hours to do mine and I had no experience. You'll have to have someone weld an extension for your shifter but other than that you shouldn't have any problems with needing help. Other than that the only problem I had was the steering linkage extension but I just had to grind in down a little with a dremmel tool. Good luck with however you go about it.

Message: I didnt have to do any welding, and the only extension i added was to the 4-wheel drive shifter,(also my body-lift was a 3") and "nooby" has a two wheel drive,so maybe he wont have to do much, but i still think a body-lift is not that hard even for the non mechanically inclined.

Message: As an after thought,my truck is not my daily driver so if its down for days, weeks or even months at a time its no big deal.If you drive your truck every day you might consider taking it to an offroad shop so it gets done that day.......just a thought.
