Yeah, it seems like a lot of trimming at first, but it is all definitly worth it in the end (as you already know)! Heck, if it was that easy... everybody would be running 33's or larger. If you need any help let me know. We have different frames but I might know a trick or two if you come across a problem.
33's BABY!!!!!!!!!!! yeah :- )

Message: Woo Hoo!!! X-Terrains are on...mounted and balanced at Wal-Mart for $44. Guy first refused to do it saying the 305/75-R16s were 5 inches bigger than my 265/70-R16s.....Doofus Later he admitted he looked it up wrong and said he would go ahead and do it, but wouldn't be responsible for rubbing. I told him all of you guys said it would work and so on they went. When I came back, he gave me the thumbs up and told me how good they looked....smart doofus!!!! While I was waiting to pay the bill, some guy came in looking for tires for his Chevy...265/70-16s!!!! Wally World didn't have anything he wanted and he walked away..........but not before I sold him my newly removed tires w/ 9700 miles....for $250 cash on the spot. Life is good!!!!

Your steering.. you have Rack & Pinion right? what Steering linkage are you using? B/C I'm going to need basically the same linkage you have.... I think .. ;-) is there any extra room for like another 1.5" b/c I'm not sure how my steering is going to work right now. But if the linkage you have is easy to comeby I might try that.

Knobbyman, yeah... I have R&P but I'm not sure what your planning? If you're talking about how much lower the links can go (meaning more lift) then I don't think another 1.5 will work. The linkages will pull out of the sockets (its happened before on another truck). However, there is a fix to that, RAM parts and links or something along those lines solve most of these problems but require some mods.
Before I go further, is this what your talking about? I can email you w/more info if so.

TallQuad what's your e-mail addy?
See what I'm talking about is... you lifted your truck 3" above 4x4 stock.. I'm lifting mine up 4.5" so our steering linkage will be close to the same. I was curious how you had your setup. In one of the pictures on your site I can see alittle bit of the steering linkage and it got me wondering.

Message: Tallquad, I'm going to do a 3" bodylift on my 2001 Dakota Quad 2wd. I wanted to ask you, if you had any problems doing a BL on your truck. Mainly my main concern is the engine bay, what wires/hoses did you have to extend??? Where there any hard to reach bolts???
After lifting your rig, did you go to any 4x4 places to play around and if so, how was it???
Any information would be really helpful ...
Email me at: eddie.saturnio@milan.com
Thanks ...

Message: Do some searching on here for body lifts. There is too much for me to describe again... hehe! But short and sweet, here is some info:
- extended radiator hose with supplied piece, kinda a pain.
- front brake line braket, easy
- front shroud was a pain for me
- no need to mess with the gas filler hose (just watch it closely and move slow!)
- no hard to reach places (steering linkage maybe)
- off-road is the same, which is good (improved with new tires!)
Overall: I love this thing! Best money I've spend so far.
:-)
