Has anyone delt with a suspension lift using aftermarket torsion bar keys? I saw a kit on Ebay for $170.00 It came with new torsion bar keys and lift blocks for the rear. The company is total performance. They claim that you can get 2" of lift with out stressing the torsion bars. Any advice would be appreciated.

When you put lift torsion bar keys on it will do the exact same thing as cranking the torsion bars, just in a harder to do and more expensive way. All the torsion bar keys do is turn the bar without affecting where the jacking bolt is for the torsion bars. It will also do the exact same long term damage as cranking your torsion bars, it will wear out the bars themselves quicker, the ball joints, tie rods, and cv axles also.
In my opinion I would crank the torsion bars and see what you could get out of them, you might be able to save yourself $170, but if the bars are are worn out then you may need the keys. Thats the only reason I see to get the keys in the first place, unless you have a plow or other extremely heavy object on the front end and the bars themselves wont level the truck back out.

If the bars are worn out, you'd be better off replacing them than adding more strain. No problems with any of my front end; 6 years now cranked 2".
