Subject: New Torsion Bar Keys IP: Logged
Message: Do these really save your torsion bars from being over stressed? They say they are "keyed" differently than the stock ones allowing for less stress on the bar to achieve 2-3" of lift.

Seems like you would have to put the same amount of "stress" on the bars to achieve over factory lift no matter what.

Message: If your bars are like my '95s they are hexagonal shaped on the ends, in other words, it doesn't matter. Now, how a different key will relieve stress is beyond me. It takes the same amount of torsional twist to support the front end know matter which key is used...unless I am missing something...

Message: After a bit of junk-yard searching, I found 2000 Durango torsion bars to put in my '04 Dakota. They are the same length, are thicker, give a little stiffer ride, and the truck doesn't nose-dive as much when braking.
