Subject: how high? IP: Logged
Message: I put in add a leaf's this weekend and cranked my torsion bars up a little on my 4X4 2001 QC. In my excitement I forgot to measure the distance between the center of my wheel and the top of the fender flare to keep tabs on how much I was lifting the front. I've read that it is O.K. to go up to 1.5 - 2 inches, and I think that is what I've dont, but want to know if other people will post the measurement between the center of their wheel and the top of the fender flare and how much that gave them. I called a couple of local 4X4 shops around KC and all of them said that they raise front ends on trucks up to 1.5 inches all the time with no long term problems. I like the way it looks but want to make sure I am in the safe range. Thanks in advance.

Message: I'll have to get under it and measure it tonight. How much clearance should I have between the arm and the bump stop at 1.5 inches of lift? I was trying to look at the front cv shaft to estimate the angle and drop is has now. At factory the shaft was straight and now it looks to be about 1.5 lower at the wheel?
