"IF' you could actually get 3"s of lift out of adjusting your torsion bars, you are still going to have tire contact at the rear of the wheel opening on the front end with 35s. I currently run 33x10.5s with a 2" body lift & 4" suspension lift on my `95. All is well on the pavement, but I can get a bit of tire scrub (rear of front wheel opening) if I get it twisted up with the wheels turned, while off road. It gets more pronounced if you have wheels with less offset than stock. I am currently running Eagle Alloy 589s...15x8 with 3.25" backspacing. The stockers were 15x6 with 5.5" backspacing. Also, not to discourage you, but be prpared to replace front end components a LOT more frequently as the larger tires are very taxing on things like: upper/ lower ball joints; tie rod ends; upper/ lower control arm bushings; pitman arm/ idler arm. Since installing the suspension lift and larger tires (60K miles ago) I have had to replace my idler arm, upper ball joints and lower ball joints. The price to pay when going up. I know theres a limit to how much of a suspension lift you can
put in a dodge dakota sport v8 before you have to drop the
torsion bars which ive heard is very dxpensive for a garage to
do. Exactly how many inches of suspension can you get
before you wouldnt need a torsion bar drop? ANd does
anyone have any idea how much a torsion bar drop would
cost?
