Message: I have a 2001 slt 4x4 and I am wondering if
Super Swamper SSR's size: 32/11.50R16 will
fit on my stock 16 inch wheels without
rubbing?

Message: Nope. The Swampers (and similar tires) are actually a little bigger when you account for the size of their "shoulder" blocks.

Message: I was running 32x11.50's on my stock 15x7 rims with no rubbing, but there wasnt a lot of room left. On 8 inch wide rims there will be a small amount of minor rubbing. As Halo said, with swampers, it will be questionable because of the way the lugs are. Only option is to pick out a 2nd tire that you like that your tire shop has, and get them to test fit a swamper on the front. If it works great, if not, then go with your # 2 choice.

Message: thanks guys i appreciate your input. The tires
that i have on there now are metric, and when i
converted the tire size to standard they are
pretty equivalent to 31/10.50x16. I have
enough room to compensate for the tire lugs
of a swamper so i may just go with those.
When i took a second look i believe you are
absolutely correct that a 32/11.50x16 are just
slightly to big and will rub on the bumper when
turning. Thanks again.

Message: I looked and your right, Swamper has the SSR
in the 265/70/16 however that is the size of the
stock tire I have on there now. When I convert
the size to standard it comes out with 10.43in.
for the width and total height is 30.60 in. Since
I can't fit the 32/11.50x16 without rubbing then
I want to at least take advantage of the small
amout of width and height from a 31/10.50x16
tire. Thanks.

Message: Matter of fact with those tires being so damn
close in size i wonder why they even make the
metric version. The tire sizes are pretty much
equivalent. Good question?

Message: The swamper SSR in the 265/70/16 is almost a inch taller(31.5 o.d/10.7. than the stock goodyear 265/70/16 (30.6 o.d./10.7 w).I think these tires will fit and ride perfect on the dakota. As soon as I find a set of rims I want,I'm getting em.I've heard good reviews on them.Laters Brian

Message: O.k. so I called 4Wheel Parts Warehouse
down the street from me and they told me that
Swamper just discontinued the SSR
31/10.50x16 and are going with only the
265/70/16 and yeah you're right the tread adds
some height for sure. Thanks.
