Subject: need help with first truck IP: Logged
Message: i am 16 and just bought a 2001 dakota slt club cab thats an auto
2wd as my first car and i love it. I just recently purchased
flomasters and am so excited to do more. I have decided on a
3" PA body lift with the TB cranked and blocks but have some
questions. What do i ask for when i go into a shop to get the
right blocks and how many times should i crank my TB bars? I
am also interested in 33" BF goodrich A/T tires. Will these fit?
How do i know if the rims i want with go right with the BF A/T's?
and what should my backspacing be?
I greatly appreciate any help i can get because im a newb and
you guys are my only reliable source to go to. thanks so much!!!

Message: Yea I highly doubt your going to be able to fit 33's on your 2wd. Some 31's probably but some guys are having issues with 33's on their 4wd with the 3" BL. I'm gonna try to put on some 33's as soon as i got some money but I have a 4wd with the 3" BL.

Message: WELL FOR STARTERS, IF YOUR TRUCK IS 2WD, YOU DO NOT HAVE TORSION BARS. SO BOUT ALL YOU WILL PROBABLY GET IS 31's OR MAYBE 32's BUT I DOUBT THAT. AS FAR AS BACKSPACING, MINE ARE 3.25 AND MY TIRES STICK OUT ABOUT 2", THE LOWER THE # THE FURTHER OUT THE WHEEL SITS. AS FOR TIRES AND WHEELS, I DOUBT YOU WILL GET A 12.50 WIDTH TIRE WITHOUT SERIOUS RUBBING ON A 2WD. MOST 2WD I KNOW OF RUN 10.50's OR 11.50's, AND ANY 8 TO 10" WIDE WHEEL WILL WORK FINE.

Message: any auto shop should be able to do it for you, its really not hard at all. just call around to some of your local automotive repair shops and get some prices on labor.

Message: I would just go buy the tools to do it...will be much more cost effective and you get to aquire a few new tools, always a good thing! Installing the lift is really easy all you have to do is take your time and you'll be good. Have someone help if you a little iffy. Taking it to an autoshop probably gonna cost you $400 or so.
