Message: i have a set of husky floor mats. i have to say that they are pretty sweet, they are preformed for our floors out of some stiff rubber, they cover a lot of floor space and they have lips on the ends so your mud/water doesnt get under them. i highly recomend them.
have any of you guys had your clutch replaced, i need one pretty bad and the local mechanic wants like 700 for the clutch and labor. sounds real high... price, not mechanic.

Message: You can go here to see some pics of my truck:
www.geocities.com/Baja/Desert/1727/DodgeDakota.html
Somewhere on that site I have a place to click on to see pics of my truck, and some recommended upgrades for Generation I trucks.
Brent I have an automatic tranny, sorry, cant help you much there. I know for sure that changing clutches is a huge pain in the Axx. I watched some friends of mine do it on their Chebbbby. Took them about 4 weeks in their parttime evenings. Huge project.

Message: I think the 31s will rub like crazy without a lift. I have 5 inches of lift on my 2wd to run 31x10.50s. Sucks bad but Im working on that too.
About me, Im in college. But I work part time as a painter(houses) and deck building for a friends business. Make alittle cash. But still get to study for school. Works out well. Excpet I cant afford that solid axle swap on my dak. haha. Maybe then I could run 32x11.50s. hahahahahahaha
Where in grove land are you. i spend alot of time between LaBelle and Lakeland. All is citrus.
Has anyone figured out how to bring up this page without having to run through all the previous 4 pages to get to these newest posts? I gotta run through this bull every time I get on the page.
Good night all. Its midnight and Im already sleepen.

Message: I have a 92 Dakota 4X4 with 31X12.50 Swamper boggers on 8" rims. They don't rub. Only on full turn on a bump. other than that they work fine. i also put on a trailmaster 3" body lift. To cover the tires I put on some bushwacker flares without screwing them to the fenders. I used wire clips from belden to attach the fenders. they can be found at NAPA. My truck looks tough, but very allergic to dirt because I hate cleaning it.

Message: Yeah, lakeland mud bog is crazy! I love that place. I was there a month or 2 ago. This guy had a toyota with a small block 350 in it. He ran 44s. This guy flew over the pit the first/second time. But the third time, he lost his grip and sank. Then he flat gunned it and blew up his motor. I was only 4 ft away watching and fire went shooting out everywhere. He did not know it because his truck was covered in mud. So we actually had to jump in the mud and slap the side of the truck to get him to quit. He damn near blew himslef up. But he did win the 1st place trophy. He stuck on the finish line. It was bad azz...
I am trying to get the florida meet to meet there. Its in the middle of the state just off I-4 I think it is.
Craig, thanks for the reply. Hopefully your budget will get you a few digital picts. Thanx

Message: I took my truck in the other day to have that CV boot replaced. They told they cannot do it because the whole CV axle needs replacing, and with that the pitman arm and the idler arm, too. I believe that too, as they were worn out and loose and rattling around
After some website and wallet searching, I have found AutoZone the best priced on those items, new. I have no idea where I can get some of those used, even eBay doesnt list that stuff hardly ever. I can get the axle for $99, pitman for $46 and idler for $32. Not too bad.
The shop told me "$170" for the axle!!! I could hardly keep from laughing when they told me. I just told them I would go find my own and bring them in so they could install the parts I bring in. I cannot underestimate the importance of shopping around before you settle on an offer for auto repairs!!!!

Message: i fully agree there, i took my truck to les schwab to have them give me an estamate on my brakes. they told my it would be $800 to do the front and rear brakes... i did it myself for 100 bucks. im never letting them touch my truck again cause i had my alignment done there and one of the friggin idiots didnt tighten my upper right a-arm and the thing was sliding front to back which made my truck shoot to either side of the road when i hit a bump. then when i took the truck back to have them tighten it they said that they had a couple of trucks that had come back with the same problem. dumba$$es!

Message: i did happen to go with an add a leaf on my truck and i wish i had gone with a lift block, i thought an add a leaf would be easier, LOL, nope, a block would have been easier, oh well, such is life
now i can haul more without sagging though, stick 150 lbs in the air shocks, load a ton of weight in the back and sag an inch or two

Message: hey TigerDak, why dont you just save some money and do the cv shaft yourself
all it is, is 6 bolts connecting it to the axle and a nut that goes through the hub rotor assembely.....takes about 10 min

Message: I didnt know it was that easy. Are these bolts and this nut hard to find? hard to reach? do I need special tools? I'd be happy to do it myself if I had some good direction. I have the Chrysler service manual, but I havent spent much time studying it for this job. Any other advice will be used! THANX

Message: yeah its super easy, i replaced mine a little while ago. its just those few bolts on the differential that are easy to remove with an impact wrench if you have one. then its just that big a$$ nut and a cotter pin at the hub. the axle just compresses and slides off the splines and drops down... supper simple.

Message: Add-a-leafs are a bit more labor intesive due to the fact that you gotta insert the leaf in the middle of the leaf pack. But I still like it better than a 1.5in block. But glad you got it done.

Message: Hey guys, hows it going?
I'm 17 and I got a 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport 4WD
for my first truck, and I was wondering what I could do to it. I plan on getting a 2" body lift and K&N air filters. If you guys can think of any lift kits that I could get or anything to add more inches of lift please let me know. I want to go mudding with my friends as soon as I can.
My email is redskull@swirve.com if you have help or want a pic of my truck just ask.
Thanks so much, even if you only read this
