Subject: lift blocks
IP: Logged

Message:
i see many guys using a 2" block and cranking the t bars for a little more lift/agressive look for larger tires. do you think a 3 inch block and crankin the t bars on a 02 qc 4x4 would throw off the balance of the height from front to back?

I would go with a 2" block in the rear, mine sits a little higher in the back with the t-bars cranked and the 2" block.

Here are some pics of my truck with the 2" t-bar/block lift.

It sits higher than a full size Chevy 4X4 now

Hey 8banger, how high did you raise your front end? Did you max them out, or stop short?

I didn't max them out, they still had a few turns left in them. I just brought the front up 2" and left it there, it immediately settled 1/4" after I drove it.

It's probably not a good idea to max them out.

Add-a-leafs change your ride quality and make the rear stiff. If you want to maintain the stock ride, go with blocks or shackles. I don't know if they have lift shackles for the daks though.

big red im startin to understand this a little i think i was always a car guy, i have been askin the same questions, if you do a 2 inch block and a 3 inch body lift you should be able to fit a 33 inch tire or a 285/75/16, the shocks will stay the same beacuse your not changing any major parts like a arms or anything, the front end will still be factory so the stock shocks should work.....did i get this right guys?? maybe one of the experts can correct me if im wrong.

Mine is 383/8" if I measure exactly how you described. I have 265/75/16 BFG A/T KO's and they are at 40psi.

My speedo is right on, but I used Superchips to calibrate for the larger tires.

Yeah I got 383/8 if I measure from the ground to the center of the front fender, the tape measure is directly in front of my center cap on my wheel. Is that what you wanted?
