Who is planning on lifting their trucks with the Truckin Suspension? What size? Of course not till all the kinks are all worked out.

I want a 6.5 on 35's...so I hope they fit!

Once our truckin suspension Diplomat, a.k.a. Knobbyman get the bugs and beercaps worked out, I am all over the 4.5" lift. I'll pull the 1.5" lift block from the rear of course and have 7.5" with my bodylift which will be plenty for me so I can fit my 305/70-16 Xterrains on 16x10 wheels:) I have been on pins-and-needles since the lift was announced:)

GO KNOBBYMAN!!!!!!!!!! :0

You guys are crazy putting that wack *** truckinsuspensions lift on your Dak's, look at all the problems Knobbyman is having. Why dont' you just get the Tuff Country 5.5in, with torked torzion bars, it brings the total ride height to about 6.5in. and clears 35's alone

Do you have that lift on your truck? Any pics? Do you know someone who has it? What year of the truck? Knobby man is working the kinks out of the 4.5 inch lift but I want the 6.5 lift and he has a 2000 lift and mines a 99 so all his pain is not going to help me I don't think. Anyhow I want to put 35's on my truck but I can't decide which lift to go with so I'm just holding out. A few guys have said they had alignment problems with the Tuff country lift because of the control arms and stuff. I wonder if a simple 3 inch suspension lift from Rancho and a 3 inch body lift would allow the 35's to fit.????

I'm planning on running the Whiplash Suspension lift this summer to run 38s with the body lift I have.
I've done some research and have found that the only legal problems they had were people handing out fake reciets for insurance fraud. Thankfully I have yet to read anywhere that their lifts are bad, in fact I've heard nothing but praise about how well built their lifts are.
But wish me luck I'll let you all know how it turns out.

You've read nothing bad about Whiplash lifts? I've read some pretty nasty posts about them on some other offroad message boards. I think a few links to those posts were on these forums somewhere a while back.

But hey, I wish you luck if you go that route!

Nice Durango...

BTW! To try and clear things up yet again...

MY PROBLEMS ARE WITH THE INSTALLER NOT THE KIT!

True there were afew pieces that didn't fit correctly but they were REALLY close and Truckin-Suspension has corrected them and I will be getting the new parts tomorrow via UPS. I'll measuer those on Friday when I try and put the rest of my lift together.. If I can get it all together then I should be done this weekend.. If I can't figure somethig out I'm going to winch my truck onto a flatbed trailer and take it over to a off road shop... I'll list what I still have to do.

Starting from the back of the truck..

1. Drop down brackets (just need to drill out the old studs and switch it for the new hangers)

2. Install the new (getting tomorrow) drop down brackets for the T-Bars.

3. Instal the T-Bars

4. Install the Left uper Control arm drop down brackets & Uper Control arm (right side is already done)

5. Tighten up the stearing linkage

6. Bolt the Heim-Joint for the Stearing linkage on.

7. Put on my fron disk brakes & calipers.

8. Put on my tires..

9. Drive to shop to have my truck aligned

10. Get my new tires.

That's it.... Nothing else GAH! I forgot the hardest part (j/k) I have to bolt on the rear anti-sway bar dog legs.. That'll take all of 5 minutes.

AHHH HA! I did forget something.. the front anti-sway bars.. I haven't even looked at how those are suposed to go on.. I keep forgetting.

Anyway.. That's it.. 12 things left and I'm done. I just don't know how to do brakes.. that's why the front isn't finished yet.

No my Durango does not have a body lift, but I did tork the hell out of the torzion bars. I gained about an inch of height out of it, plus I have speedbags in tha rear. So my ride isn't so sluggish with those 35's, I put in 4:56 precisions. Yes I used the nitro predator tuff country shocks, and no I didn't chop off any bumperstops . If you plan on getting that lift, I recomend that you go with the flip kit instead of the stiff ride of the replacement leaf springs, does miracles on your kidney's when you drive.

hey Jeremy,

This may be a dumb question but I'm still learning how all this stuff works.

To still be able to engage the 4x4 would I have to change the gears in the front and the rear to match? Or can you just change the rear gears and not worry about it? I know the purpose for changing the gears but I don't know how that translates to the front.

Thanks, ~Bill~

I'm going to get 35s put on my truck and I want it to remain functional so I guess I'm going to have to save even more money before I begin this project.

Anybody have a web site for gears front/rear. I need to price those outs.

ya, you definetly have to change the gears in the front and back to the same ratio, otherwise you'll pay the price. I paid about a grand for the front and rear, but doing just the rear could save you money, just don't use your 4x4 that much....
go to www.precisiongears.com they're supposed to be the best for the chrysler front and rear diffs.

I may be talking out my arse, but I seem to remember in my younger days hangin w/ wheelers that had different ratios in the fronts and rears...their thoery being that while offroad (very important note) that sometime different tire speeds produce different traction results in different kinds of slop, mud, sand, etc...with different amounts of weight over the axles. Now remember, this was a long time ago and these peeps were pretty serious wheelers, i.e. sand drags, obstacle coursers, snorkle intake for underwater running, etc. Take it for what it's worth....so far, I've driven my 01 QC 4x4 over a couple of curbs and about 30 feet into the sand in Rocky Point, Mexico!!!! Real adventurer, aren't I????

Truckin-Suspension will NOT work the kinks out...

Ok here's a update for all of you guys.. Truckin-Suspension will no longer work with me on this.. Ian just hung up on me saying they want the lift back from me.

I do NOT! recommend working with them at all on anything. Unless you SEE not talk to but SEE there product installed on someone else’s truck and you want the exact same product.

They paid Michael Briant the $500 for the install.... Which if I remember correctly wasn't done correctly or finished for that matter. He left when he cut off the wrong brackets in the rear.

Truckin-Suspension also sent me Black Powercoated Nerf Bars which.. the powder coat is falling off of. The actual bars look good and feel good but the powder coat sucks. I also didn't order Black bars.. I wanted Raw.

Truckin-Suspension will not help me find another installer and they won't pay or help pay to move my truck to a install shop. They also won't pay that install shop or work with them to fix this problem. They got there $1300 and are now running.

If anyone has any questions or comments about this.. please post.. I'd love to hear them... Yes.. even the "I told you so".. just because I want to see EVERYONES comments.

Post over here...

I happen to have the 1.5" blocks from my Dak sitting right here that I used to level my Dak out before I installed the Rancho lift, only thing you would need is to get some longer u-bolts that I bought for $30 dollars locally at a spring shop. I think I paid like $40-50 shipped for these a little over a year ago and would sell them for $25 shipped, they are in excellent condition. Just let me know and drop me an email at Bobolama2@yahoo.com! Bob.
