I just spent $5300 on my Dak for the normal off-road gear like a lift kit, body lift, tires, rims, gears, lockers, and a bunch of engine mods. I took it out to a gravel pit to make a test run to see how well she could climb and thats when it all went to hell. I managed to get up the side of the bowl without a single problem. When I made my way around the edge , the dirt gave way and I took a nice spill. I tumbled damn near 85 ft down hill. Needless to say, the truck didn't make it. Most of the engine was still good. As for the rest of the truck, that's a different story. I spent 3 days in the hospital with a severe concusion, deep cuts from the glass (83 stitches), a shattered shoulder, and a sh1t load of bruises. I do have have to thank my buddy for being there in his Jeep or I probably would still be in the hospital or worse.
The moral of the story: always off-road with a friend in a seperate truck.

DontBuyPete, you'd probably remember me posting as Josh. I changed my screen name about a month or so ago.
Bucket, thanks man. The hazy affects of the concusion are gone. I picked up another Dak and I'll be picking up the hobby again when I get back from Afghanistan. I think the next time I'll be staying away from the "pit of doom".
