Message: Looking at the picture you can see the frame of the truck, leading me to think it is a body lift.

Message: That was a sweet looking truck you had Scott. If you have a few minutes would you mind answering a few questions for me?
What suspension / lift combination did you and from which company?
Did you have any trouble with alignment or anything like that?
What gears did you run in the differential?
Gas mileage with those 38s..probably wasn't very good I bet?
What size rims did you run on that to get the 38s?
Any thing else you mind telling me would be great. I want to do the same thing to my truck.
thanks a lot, ~Bill~

Message: Bill, I had the 5.5 TUFF COUNTRY susp. lift and the torsion bars cranked up about an inch or so.The body lift was a Trail Master 3 in. kit that came with the "lift lips" ,pieces of heavy material the hid the gap in the wheel wells after lifting the body off the frame. My only align. problem was due more to the orig. (crappy in my opinion)Dodge design of how the two bolts on the top of the upper a-arm are what holds the align. Once you put on a lift and bigger, wider , heavier tires they would keep moving, and there is such limited room to get a socket to them it was imposible to get them to hold tight! I ended up getting it aligned , driving very carefully home and finding bolts of various sizes w/washers and taking up the space so the arm couldn`t move. It`s hard to explain but thats the best I can come up with.Sounds hokey , but it worked.I had 4.56 Precision gears in the rear only.I only used it for street driving so I never had it in 4WD. I was told you could get gears for the front to match but to be honest, the front end would break with all that weight and off set of tires.I was in the process of building a straight axle for the front when I sold it.Gas milage was really not all the bad, it was terrible before I did any mods to it.It got around 10-12 MPG.I first had a set of 15x10 Welds with 4 3/4 backspacing but traded a friend of mine for a set of BILLET SPECIALTIES 15x12s w/ about 3 in. of backspacing. They looked a lot better and stretched the tires out more.If I had to do it all over again I would do a straight axle the first time , it might be more money but you could go as high as you wanted and be stronger and more original. That would be if the truck was older though (97-99).I just can`t see cutting up my new baby.Once someone like Superlift steps up and makes a kit for us "rackers" I might change my mind.
