Message:
I am getting ready to add a 3" body lift and a tuff country 5.5 suspension lift to my 99 dodge dakota. I have heard that the independent front suspesnion on the 99's is a bear for an install. Has anyone in the group done a lift on a dakota much less a 99? I'd be happy to hear any tips or suggestions you may have as well as things to look out for. The goal here is to get a set of 38/15.50 under the dakota.
Thanks in advance.

Wow 38s/15.50 ? your setting your goals pretty high i got 3"bl and 4 supension and my 32x11.5 still freakin rub like a pig oh and i already hacked my fenders a little too,and the guy from "weldtech suspensions" that did my susp lift said it was a total beech, but i suppose if your good at that sort of stuff you might pull it off,it was more than i was willing to tackle, and i have done most of the mods on my truck. But 38 ??? i dont know about that one.I still have major fender trimming to do but i will wait till i get a tig welder so i can fab my own fender flares.

Wow rubbing with 32/11.50's? I have those on my stock suspension now with only "minimal" rubbing against the frame on really hard turns. I have seen a few Dakota's with a 5.5 lift house up to 35 1250 with no problem. I'll keep you posted on what happens.. Maybe I am shooting the moon here with 38's but we'll see

Thanks for the info!

Randy~ i know a guy with your set up that runs 37s, never heard of 38 an 15.5 seems a little wide, don't be dissapointed if it doesn't work out.
