Subject: 2002 QC BLift Install Lessons Learned IP: Logged
Message: Put on the BL this weekend. A lot bigger pain than suspension lifts I've done. 2002 QC 4X4. This is a long post but maybe it will help someone.
Tools you may need: socket ext about 18-20 inches for bed bolts. Made it easier. 16 MM socket. I had to use a 5/8. 18 MM socket. Bungee cord to hold rear bumper during install. Hacksaw or utility knife to cut hose. Lube. Long arm jack, mine is 24 inch and I had to use a 4x4 block.
Installation directions issues for the QC: The fuel filler had enough slack, so I didn’t take it off. Don’t drain radiator, just catch the fluid to reuse. The bracket to relocate the shift cable isn’t needed; I used it for a 2nd brake bracket. The extensions for the transfer case aren’t needed, it’s electronic. The kit comes with 2 flat brackets for the frt. bumper, I didn’t use them. Don' take off the frt. bumper brackets on the frame, just bolt the "C" brackets on top.I was going to re-drill the rear bumper brackets using the kit plates as a pattern but I have a receiver hitch. No exhaust mod was needed but the pipe does hang down. Drill and bolt the bed supports if you don’t have a welder like me.
Problems I encountered: The steering extension was difficult to install. My suggestion is lube it and measure/mark where the groove is so you’ll know how far to hammer it on. I had to remove a little metal inside the hole of the extension to get it started.
The radiator hose will fit if you reverse like the directions state; I used the extension anyway and have about 3/4 inch clearance, use lube to get it to slide on.
If you have the plastic panel covering the fan and oil filter, you may have to trim the top ears from it.
When raising the cab, watch the opposite cab side or it will hit the bed.
If you have a K&N FIPK loosen the hose and it will twist up ok.
Have fun!

Message: Got any pics? I had probs with the steering extension so I just dremmiled the crap out of it til it fit....wasn't even a close match at first.
Your lucky ur T-Case is electronic....mines a '00 so it's still manual and now I cant shift out of 4 hi. I can get into it and every other gear but I can't get out of 4hi...bad angle I guess. Glad to hear u didn't have too many probs.
