Message: Its a good idea to do a visual inspection of cv boots from time to time - a torn boot will leak the grease out of the joint, then it will fail. Mine have been cranked about 40,000; no problems with boots, ball joints, or anything.

Message: I gotta put in my 2 cents here. I also have a 2000 QC 4.7 4x4....with a rancho 3". I've had the lift for bout 2 years and I off road it fairly often (more so in the last year or so). I also "cranked" my t bars and got aleast 2" more lift but since doing so, I've gone through 2 half shafts in the last 3 months (I'm putting in my 2nd tomorrow). I'm going to make a long story short. When you change the angels of the shafts by turning the t bars, you are putting more stress on the CV joints and are MORE LIKELY to snap those joints while off roading. Forget the boot problem. If your just drving around town or maybe in some snow it probly won't be an issue. Before I cranked the bars I did a lot of posting on different forums (including this one) and only bout 1 in 20 ever said anything bad bout doing it. I guess I'm that 1 out of 20 this time. Don't crank'em too much.
