I know this has been asked B4 but, Any ideas from the Dakota Crew. 2002 QC 4x4/AWD a few mods. I ordered a BL this week but due to a problem, the order got cancelled. Here is my concern. Some say BL looks bad...Suspension lift rides hard. Now Im not sure which way to go....No lifted QC around here to look at. Ideas?

PS Caught about 70lbs of Cats last week 15lbs largest.

I think Body lifts look nice on daks...especially crew cabs...if the frame showing bothers you get running boards...not tube steps/nerf bars...running boards.

I have to say 3" body lift doesn't look that bad on Daks, but I don't like the idea of the body sitting 3" off of the frame.

I am going to wait till the 6" kit is available for the QC Daks. Until then just crank your torsion bars up 2" and be happy with that. Click my thumbnail to see the 2" lift.

That's my Dakota that Brian linked too. I think the 3" BL on the QC looked sweet even before I got the 33" tires.

One thing to watch out for, 8banger, is state regulations. I know where I live (CT), you cannot lift your vehicle more than 4" artificially (Body Lift). So if you have inspections, they may get you.

I am not worried about that...I see trucks with 9" lifts all day long over here.

Seems like everyone with a turbo diesel has a minimum 9" lift and 44" tires.

Jetsfan, did you lose a lot of power going to 33's?

Yes, I lost power, but not too much. Weird thing is, when I cranked the torsion bars up, it seemed to give me back power. Doesn't make sense to me, but it drives better now. I used to be able to coast at 65mph, not giving it much gas. Then with the 33's I had to maintain more punch to stay at 65mph, now with the t-bars cranked, I'm back to coasting. Weird.

I dropped from about 15 mpg, to just over 13 mpg. I think its time to think about those 3.92 gears, my 3.55 just ain't doing it. Thank God gas is coming down.
