Subject: Radiator move Question?

Message:
Hey Guys. Can I move the Radiator down when I install the BL. I can make brackets and/or extend hoses. Has anybody done this? If not what might be the problem.

Why exactly would u move the radiator? No cooling problems by just trimming the shroud so your fan doesn't hit it...other than when I trimmed I left a piece a little too close and when I stepped on it and the enging torqued my fan fixed that problem with it being a little too close. Only tore out a piece about the size of a softball. Still no probs with cooling. Seems trimming would be easier since it's off rather than fabricating some brackets and moving ur radiator.

I actually just finished my BL and currently and not running a fan shroud at all because i wasnt paying attention and shattered it. Anyways even running no fan shroud you will have no cooling problems

Hey, DempDak.

How long did it take to put the BL on? I’ve done suspension lifts b4 but never a BL. I have air tools, jacks and a welder in my shop. The shroud looks like two piece, so what about making a bracket to span the gap and lower the bottom?

What kind of driving are u doing with out ur fan shroud? I really wouldn't mind taking it off since its just in my way when I have to work on my truck sometimes but I figured they're there for a reason so i didn't want to mess with it.
If you can do a suspension lift a body lift is gonna be no problem. Took me about 10 hrs after some problems but if I did it again I'm sure I could almost cut that in half.

CatfishCraig,

I dont know about the fan shroud being a two piece shroud, mine was one but it is also five years older with a different motor. As far as the type of driving im doing. You name it, i live on a farm so it tows, some mild off roading, and just everyday driving and i have no problems with overheating. And yes if you can do a SL you will have no problem with the BL. Mine took me a good 8 hours with a couple problems. But as adam said, if i had to do it again i could cut that time in half.
