Subject: Question about lift/tires! IP: Logged
Message: Hi all,
I am new to this site and have a 2003 Dakota with the Stampede package and a 4.7L V-8. I bought the truck new and have got 52,000 miles out of the factory Goodyear Eagle tires. It's time for some new tires and I would like to lift the truck as well. I thought with a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift I could fit 31” or 33" tires easily. Who makes a good lift for this year Dakota? Does the Stampede suspension effect anything concerning the lift? Do I have to extend the driveshaft towards the rear axle if I lift it? Has anyone had any long term luck with a lift? I live in Lakeland Florida, does anyone know a good retailer/installer? I drive a good bit of highway miles and am not looking for an extremely aggressive off-road setup. I appreciate any suggestions in this manner. Thank you.

Message: Well for a 4wd 31" is an optional size so no lift required. You can even run 32" without a lift and have no rubbing by just cranking ur T-Bars. 3" BL on a 4wd u can run 33's with minimal or possibly no rubbing. For 2wd u can run a 3" BL and a 3" Suspension lift and run 33's. Hope that helps and what not.

Message: The truck is a 2 wheel drive. It actually sits a little lower than the rgular 2WD because of the Stampede package.
Pictures of the truck are on the following webpage:

Thanks in advance.

Message: I wish my truck were black. Yea I'd say 31's since a 4wd truck with a 3" lift still may rub with 33's.
