I had my torsion bars cranked 1" to allow for 285/65/16 tires, but i may still have a rubbing problem when I get them. Do the factory bolts have enough length to put a 3/4" rubber spacer between the frame and the body and crank down to 1/2" for a little more clearance? And will the steering be fine like it is with a 1/2" raise without an extension? thanks, steve 2004 Q.C.4x4

You question doesn’t make sense. Are you talking about putting spacers on the torsion bar adjuster bolts or installing a body lift? Adjusting the torsion bars and installing a body lift are unrelated to each other than they both increase overall height.

I think that what he is saying is that he has already twisted his t-bars up an inch, and would like to install a 3/4" body lift kit all the way around. Then he could drop his t-bars back down a little bit and the tires still wouldn't rub.

Personally I would never recommend doing any kind of "homemade" body lift on a daily driver. From what I saw when I did my body PA bodylift it looked like there wouldn't be enough extra room on the stock bolts to safely put in a 3/4" spacer. Even if you could I would still be worried about the steering shaft.

For the sake of safety I would just do a little fender trimming instead. If all the lift you need to make thins fit is 3/4 of an inch I'm sure you can make a clean hack on the front bumper to make the space.
