Subject: Finished 3" body lift on 2004 2WD QC
IP: Logged

Message:
Wow! It's finished! I had a couple of issues with the PA 3" lift on my '04 QC 2WD.

1. Bolts for front bumper!! The kit did not include the bolts for the front bumper. The stock bolts are used to mount the kit brackets to frame, so additional bolts are needed to mount the bumper on the brackets, 3/8" x 1" w/washers and nut. (2 per side)

2. Brake lines. The kit includes brackets to raise the distribution blocks off the frame. However, the result is that the lines are very close to the steering shaft upper U-joint. You must "carefully" bend the lines away from the shaft to provide proper clearance, particularly for the bolt on the kit extension piece.

3. Steering. After installing the kit with the steering shaft extension, I noticed excessive free play in the steering wheel, also the wheel won't lock when key is removed...still playing with this one!!

Anyone having any input please feel free to add comments or suggestions here!!

Regards,

Gronk

The steering issue is due to the slop in the kit extension piece where it bolts to the main steering rod, near thefirewall, not at the u-joint end. Poor design!!

The frame is more noticable after the lift but can be hidden by relocating nerf bars or sidesteps from original location.
