Message: Yes you can but carefully select the rims you want to use. Too much backspacing and they'll rub on the frame, too little and they'll swing out more when you turn and rub the fenders. Maybe 15x10's with about 4"-4.5" of backspacing.
Click on the thumbnail to go to my profile and go to my webpage, there you'll find pictures of various 4x4's with different lifts to see how things will look. There are 2 trucks with the 5.5 suspension and 3" body. One runs 36's and the other 38's.
Good luck

Message: 4WDAKOTA : ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE YOUR BACK SPACING INFO STRAIGHT. STOCK 15X8 RIMS HAVE 5-1/2" BACK SPACING. I AM GOING WITH EAGLE ALLOYS WITH 3-3/4" BACK SPACING. THE GUYS AT THE TIRE SHOP, EAGLE, AND AMERICAN RACING SAID THAT THEY WOULD STICK OUT 1-3/4" FARTHER THAN STOCK. I'M PRETTY SURE THAT BACK SPACING IS THE DISTANCE FROM THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE RIM TO THE SURFACE THAT CONTACTS THE BRAKE DRUM (REAR).

Message: Yes I'm sure.
Think about zero backspacing on a 10" rim (extreme) Then you have 10" of rim SWINGING out side of your truck. Thus you can see it will swing into the fenders.
The stock setup 5.5" keeps the wheel pivoting right around the balljoints.
The other extreme is 10" of backspacing on a 10" rim. Then the wheel is real far in. The problem with this is that you are now real close to the frame so your tire rubs on it.
The reason I pointed this out was b/c he wants to use a wide bogger which will require at least 10" rims. Now look at dpkerns who has 6.5" of lift and 33's, his rub because of 10" rims. Its a real tricky spot between too much and too little backspacing. On an 8" rim and 3-3/4" bbackspacing its good but to step up to the 10" rim he needs the same back spacing won't work. If he had 10" rims with 3-3/4" backspacing the tire would swing out farther and rub the bottom corners of the fenders. That's why I suggested about a 4-4.5" spacing to bring the 10" rim in more.
How's that for confussion, HeHe
