Message: Trailmaster is the only suspension lift made for a 91-96 Dakota 4x4. And even that is limited now because Trailmaster now lists the DD43 kit as special order only. Most dealers won't stock it because of the low demand and there's a 6-8 week build time when ordered from Trailmaster. I would suspect that kit to be dropped from their catalog completely within the next year or two. I know they have discontinued many of the options for that kit.

Message: There's a guy around town with a dakota riding on the whiplash 10" and 38s i believe. I must say it is the most badass dakota I have ever seen in my life, and perhaps one of the best looking trucks, and this kid has had the lift on for several years now. I just wouldn't want a truck like that as a daily driver. My bodylift tends to creep me out as my steering extension is a little loose (no good). I tried tightening, I think I just need a new one. Plus with all the bad reviews before, its no good. Even if you beef up the rear end, there isn't a stronger front axle that goes into gen III dakotas. That crappy dana 35 ifs can't handle big tires, end of story. I might throw the tuff country or rancho on in a couple years, but with max 35x1250 tires. Anything bigger and i would do a solid axle swap. Or just do what I'm doing now and leave my dakota as is and lift the crap out of an 89 power ram. Already got a v8, solid front axle, np435 4 speed, and lifts are dirt cheap. Plus my fender could make sweet love to a tree and i could care less.
How deep can that pond possibly be?

Message: I dont wheel at all, an occasional off road trip or something but other than that it is a street queen. Tell you the truth, the lift does ok and i think it will be ok as long as i treat it with respect. Yes i admit if you want a lift to do hard core wheelin than this is not the one but if you go off road occasional to your hunting/fishing spot it will be ok. My truck is a dailly drive and it drives great on the highway for 37 inch pro comps..
