Message: I am considering getting a 3" body or suspension lift for my 01 dakota but can't decide which one to get. Is it really worth it to pay more for the suspension.

Message: I think I speak for all of the bodylifted people out there when I say that if you have the option (meaning the money) to buy a suspension lift, go for it! Nothing wrong with the body lift, but there's no pride in saying "I've got a bodylifted truck." I just went with it because it's cheap lift. If I were in your shoes- I would save some more money and throw on both.
How deep can that pond possibly be?

Message: If you just want something for looks, go with the body lift, it's cheap, works and looks good. If you want something more rugged and off-road capable, go with the suspension lift.. or both.
I'm in the process of saving for a suspension lift for my 95 CC 4x4.
Also keep in mind that with a suspension lift, you'll want new tires and rims, that's a LARGE potential cost you may not have been thinking about. Lets not forget you'll probably want new bumpers and maybe a winch and skid plates too.
I'm looking at close to 3k for suspension lift, front & rear bumpers.
