Message: I saw an ad for that lift, but it never specified whether or not it was for 4wd or 2wd trucks. I'm a little skeptical about a 4x4 IFS lift with 10"!!!

Message: Truckin-Suspensions 9.5" lift takes some work to get done. You have to either get a new Drive Shaft for the front and rear or lengthen them. Also the whole front end would be very screwy to get to work correctly. I now have alot of faith in the R&D department over there @ Truckin-Suspension with out even looking @ my truck they put this 4.5" lift together and only welded one piece wrong and it really isn't a big problem that isn't easly fixed. If only I can get them to make a upper control arm ;-)

Message: Thanks for the info. I think I am leaning toward the Truckin 6.5". I think 10" is a little overkill. Also I don't want to screw up driveline angles. I had a 12" lift on an 83 K20 and I was replacing u-joints every 1000 miles. I don't need to deal with that anymore. Knobbyman, did you finish your 4.5? What size tires are you going to use, and what gears? Someday I will have to find out what diffs I have in my car so I can get new gears. I would like to have 4.56 with 35X12.50's. What do you think about that. Also do you know anybody that makes heavy duty axles for the dakota? Thanks again for the info.

Message: hurm... I don't think all of these have been answered so here goes....
No I haven't finished my 4.5" lift check out https://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/off/718-1.html for details

Gears are staying 3.55 until 4.10's are available.
What CAR! are you talking about? Your truck probably has a Chrystler 8" in the front which you can't get anything bigger/smaller (which ever way you want to look at it) then 3.92.
No one makes heavy duty axles for the front end of the Chrystler 8" and I haven't checked for the rear.
What year truck do you have? I think you said earlier that you have a 94? You might be able to find 4.56 & Heavy Duty axles.. But I don't know where to get them. I'd try www.ringpinion.com.
