Subject: Problems w/ 3" suspension plus 2" spacer IP: Logged
Message: I have had no luck contacting QUAD2NV about his lifted 2wd Dakota that he used to have. I plan on running the same setup. The 3" lift is on the way, soon to be followed by the 3" body lift. I wanted to know what kind of problems I will run into using 2" spacers in the front with the lift and 2" shackles in the rear. What kind of stress will be put on the ball joint and other components? What do I need to beef up in the front? I plan on running 33x12.50's on 15x8 rims with 3.75" backspacing. Oh, it's a 2001 RC, 2wd, 4.7, blah blah blah.

Message: Honestly, unless you just want the extra look, you don't need shackles or spacers to run 33's on a 2wd with 3 and 3. That's what is on mine now and I get only very minor rubbing (only in reverse, oddly enough) that could easily be trimmed away, but I just havent had time to do so.

Message: It going to be for more than the look. I saw the pics of your truck. It looks great. I will actually be using the truck for some light camping and some fun on the beach of Padre Island. I want to make sure I have some flex.
