Message: If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, your only options are a body lift and/or cranking the torsion bars. One thing to keep in mind, if you do a body lift and have a 5.2 V8, there are some clearance issues with the lower radiator hose and cooling fan. You’ll have to swap in an electric fan, which will cost you in addition to the cost of the body lift.
The only suspension lift for a 92 4x4 is going to cost you between $1300 and $1500 plus new rims (can’t reuse the stock rims with the lift) and all the little extra parts that you end up having to replace “While the truck is apart”. By the time you’re done you’ll be spending around $2000 if you do all the work yourself. If you have someone else install it, plan on spending $3000 or more.

Note: I very frequently get email from people asking about the lift kit in my ’88. Typically, I will NOT respond to the emails (about 95%) that ask questions I’ve already covered on my web pages (ie. Where did you get the kit?, Who makes it?, How much did it cost?, What modifications did you have to make to get it to fit your truck?. How hard was it to install? What problems did you encounter? etc, etc...)
