Message: Yup, Cummins makes a good engine! :)
Why did you choose what you did, EVGUY?
Either way, looks like a nice truck in the making...

Message: You play with what you have.
We converted a new Isuzu NKR 2 ton truck to electric power a couple of yours ago and the engine has been sitting in the corner ever since.
I'm still waiting on the machinist to finnish the adapter and then we can slide it all into place.
I also have a cool little Isuzu dually rear end that is the same outside width as the Dak and has 4:56 gears, It may find its way into my truck after the engine is finished. :)
Sorry Kory, I cant find any emails from you that I did not answer.

Message: Randy, glad to hear you're doing well. Nice job on the website, too. Also like your Cherokee re-power project site. I'm all about playing with what you have...now, if I only HAD a Cummins...(ha ha ha)
Yeah, I don't remember, but I think I may have gotten your email wrong. No worries.
I'm still waiting on doing my solid axle swap. The parts are actually at my folks' house in Wisconsin, and I'll be picking them up on my way to Alaska this month. Can't wait to "git-r-dun!"

Message: CJ, it's supposedly the "Flame Red Clearcoat" that's been available on Dodge's for quite a few years. Not sure exactly how close it is to factory, but that's Maaco's version of it.
The truck used to be black, so the repaint didn't have to match anything. Maaco did a good job on the truck, but it's a franchise that's individually owned and operated from shop to shop, so as with any shop it's not the name so much as it's who's doing the prep and laying down the paint.

Message: Wow this thread is still going.
A diesel conversion is a REALLY big job.
My 99 Dak is still running well since 05 with its Isuzu engine and NV4500 trans.
I just picked up a 2003 Cummins ISB 170 and hope to stuff it into a 08 Dak with another NV4500.
Should make a nice hauler for my little 5th wheel.
Anyone lifted an 08 Dak?
It looks like Ram 1500 front knuckles will bolt in and give a 2" lift?
Probably have to build lower control arm drop mounts and the diff would also have to drop which I need to do anyway to get oil pan clearance as well as a 2" body lift.
