Message:
I have a '98 dak, 2wd cc. I already have a 3" fabtech lift, 2" PA bodylift and 15x8 eagles alloy 589's with 3.25 BS. Everything is just waiting to be put on. Now i did search this sight numerous times but i keep getting mixed reviews on whether to go with 31, 32 or 33's. some say that 33's rub like hell and others say they dont.I'm thinking that 32's would be my best bet but do you guys think that i will rub to much with 33's or have to trim my entire inner fender. Any help is appriciated

thanks
John

here is mine with 32 MT's, it is 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift so it should be close to the same height as yours

With your truck being a 2wd, it naturally sits about 2”-3” lower than a 4x4 at stock height. So for the sake of even comparison, lets compare your truck to a 4x4 with just a 3“ lift assuming that your 2” body lift made your truck even with a stock 4x4. J-Rods truck would be a good example in this case as you are probably about the same height as he said..

J-Rod is has 32’s on his truck but the major difference is he’s using the stock 15x7 rims with the 5” backspace. If he went to a 15x8 with a 3 Ό” backspace like you, I would bet he would get some rubbing on the leading rear edge of his front flares. With an 8” wide rims with only 3 Ό” backspace, the tire is going to need about an extra 3”-4” to pivot in the wheel well, plus an extra inch or two for suspension flex. I would guess that a 31x10.50 with fit no problem. A 32x11.50 should fit but you may or may not have some slight rubbing on the fenders during suspension flex. I think a 33 would require trimming.

Walt is right but my rims are stock 15x8's(not 7). With the MT's they rub the frame just slightly at full turn, but don't come close to any of the fender. Your backspacing would probably make it so you may need to trim the fenders some, however, some guys here are running 33's with your backspacing and had to trim but it looks fine if done right.

So I will have to trim the fender on the metal or the plastic?

ok, thats good. I didnt want to have to start grinding away any metal. I was also thinking that i might go the extra 15 bucks and get the 3" body lift so i will have an overall lift of 6" over the 32's

thanks for the replys

It will fit, yes, but are you sure you want to run 33's on a 3.9? I imagine you're talking about one slow little truck....
