I have a problem........I have a 2004 2WD V8 ext cab dodge dakota with a 2" suspension and getting ready for a 3" body lift. I want 295/75 size tires, which is equal to a 33x11.50 on my stock 16 inch rims. I am hearing a lot of things about having to change the gears in the rearend b/c the 33"s are tough on the tranny. I have stock 3.55"s but i dont want to have to change the gear ratio. Are 33"s going to give me a lot of problems and how bad are these tires going to rub on the frame leaving the truck stock how it is with no kind of different backspacing or do i need to adjust?

Thanks Guys!

33inch tires on stock 3.55 gears are going to cause problems.. they will kill your tranny after about 40thousand miles due to the extra weight of the tires and the increased diameter, as far as rubbing i would expext it from a 2wd running 33's, a way to reduce the rubbing is, go with an aftermarket 15x8 wheel ... hope this helps

Thanks a lot for the help brian.............i may just end up putting a 31 or 32 on for good. For anyone else reading this thread, would putting 31 or 32's on make a difference as far as wear and tear?

Thanks Again!
