Suspension lift is way better. It'll cost you 10 times as much. A 3 inch body lift is not even 200 bucks US (plus installation). A suspension lift will cost you minimum $1200 plus installation - and the install is a lot more involved.
I installed my own body lift in 1 day. It's not that hard if you are reasonably competent with tools and cars.
