My rack and pinion is busted on my 98 dak and I was wondering if any one changed their stock rack for a aftermarket rack?
if so I'm interested in the stock rack if it is still in great shape I'm in a real tight spot here I cant afford a new one for over 250

I changed my rack out and it was only like 20 dollars for a used one out of the pull-apart yard. Very easy to do. I dont know the right way to do this nor do I have the right tools, but i found it alot easier to loosen the castle nut on the T.R. ends with an impact driver, I tried to do it with a breaker bar and the whole ball joint started spinning. Just my .02

did u ever end up finding one...i have the exact same problem but the junkyard is chargin me 150 to do it! lemme know if you had any luck
