Hello guys, I am going to be buying a 2004 dodge dakota quad cab within the next month, I am getting the 4.7 engine and probably with the 3.55 gears, its really hard to find one with the higher gears right now where i live, i have a few questions, i am getting ready so when i buy it i can modify it right away, first i want to lift it, i am thinking about just a body lift for the time with bigger tires, what i would like to know is, whay do you dak guys think the best lift would be? as in brand and size, i would atleast like to run 33" tires, i dont want to lose too much power with the bigger tires, but still i want it to look alot bigger, i dont do extreme off roading so thats ok, and what tires size can i fit with the lift on stock rims? so guys PLEASE give me some suggestions on what i should do with her!!!!
thank you very much in advance all info you can provide.

you have a few choices fabtech makes a 3" suspention lift and if you look around there are 3" body lifts the body lifts are only around $150 but with just a 3" body lift i dont think you'll fit 33" tires but im goin with both lifts

Robert ... I have 33s with only a 3" body lift and some minor trimming. The one big difference is that I have aftermarket wheels that stick out about 1.5" further. I personally think that if you stay with stock wheels and 33s you will have frame rubbing problems with the tires. Also, you will most likely not like the 3.55 gears after 33" tires. Thats what I had and it was a tranny killer even with several engine mods to help get more power. Look hard for the 3.92 gears, because aftermarket gears are big $$$$$. FYI, I spent $1500 for 4.10 gears and installation.

check out my post in this forum under "32x11.5 or 33x12.5?HELP ME DECIDE?"(scroll down a little ways) The guys helped me out with the tire issue plus i have a link to a pic of my truck with the body lift and tires. I only get a little frame rubbing when at full turn, but that is rare for me. Plus i have gotten a lot of compliments. I rarely offroad so my mud tires see almost all highway and so far i love them. Let us know what you decide.
