your in luck Tough Country suspension makes a 5.5 inch lift for dakotas 4x4 only i think and its a quality lift on a 4x4 you can fit 35 inch tires with little or no rubbing.. might have to do some trimming, but just read some of the old posts on here about tough country and you'll hear good things.. and to get it installed just contact any local truck accessory place and they should be able to tell you who can install it, make sure that you buy the lift from an established offroad shop, that way if something is to go wrong, they have to deal with the suspension company, NOT YOU, and you will have to get diff gears for your axles to run 35s because the 3.55 or the 3.92 gears wont cut it.. and i cant say this enough times, stay the hell away from TRUCKIN SUSPENSIONS or AIM (same company) they sell crap and it will destroy your truck, not only that, their idea of customer service is telling you to piss off and most times they wont offer a refund for the lift or offer to compensate for the repair bills that their lifts can and do cause,
if you have a 2wd, i suggest going with a rancho 3inch suspension also a very good quality lift and a body lift that should allow you to run at least 33inch tires and you wont have to change your gears for those...

hope this helps
