Subject: won't fit, won't fit, won't fit! IP: Logged
Message: I went to buy some tires today for my 97 Dakota with a 3" body lift. I decided to get some 33x12.5x15 BFG Mud Terrain. I figured there would be some rubbing on the frame, but I figured it would be ok because ALOT of people have 33x12.5 on a dakota w/ a 3" body lift. They mounted one 33" on my new wheels and put it on the truck. It rubbed bad! Everywhere! Well, not a big deal, I'll get a set of 32x11.5. Not as big as I was hoping, but. Mounted one of them and it still hit in front and back. So, I just swapped out my 31x10.5 all terrain tires on to my new wheels because I still have probably 15,000 left on them. Why is it that 31x10.5 are the largest tires my 4x4 dakota with a 3"bl can handle and some can run 33x12.5? Is there another way to gain alittle front clearance with out cranking the torsion bars or buying a suspension lift? Confused.

Message: my guess is that your rims dont have the right backspacing i have 33x12.50 on my stock 16" rims and they dont rub one bit just a bit at full turn on the frame.
