Message: I have a 99 dakota club cab v6 4X4. I currently have 31X10.5 tires on 15X8 wheels. I want to go bigger, but i just want to know what will be needed to fit 33's, and also what i would need for 35's. Also how much bigger wheels could i go with? Any help would be great.
Thanks, Jason

Message: 3 inch body or suspension for 33s. For 35s u will need AT LEAST 6" of lift. Tuff Country offers a 5.5" suspension lift. 35s will also require a gearing change.

Message: I have a 99 dakota lifted with the Tuff Country Lift. 5.5".
I have 35x12.5 on 15x8 rims. There is no way that 35x15.5 can fit. As it is, even with 35x12.5's, they hit the frame of the truck when wheels are turned all the way.
I have had a couple problems with this kits:
#1. Front diff fluid is leaking out of the overfill tube all over the engine. (solved the problem by installing a radiator overfill tank, bought from NAPA auto parts.)
#2. Rear driver's side sway bar is hitting the shock and won't let it do the full travel. (solved this by having a custom bracket welded to the axle and shock relocated that way.)
#3. Upper control arm bracket on both side are loosening. (I'm hoping to solve this problem today by just welding it onto the frame)
#4. Shock mounting bolts are shearing off on the lower control arm. (I think I've solved this by replacing the bolts with 10.9 metric bolts (available at ACE Hardware).
What I've done is torqued the torsion bars up in the front another 1.5" to allow for the 35's and did some fender trimming. Tires still rub on frame though at full turn (no rubbing on fender though). Nothing I can do about the frame rubbing, tires are just to big. I've put a 4" block in the rear, instead of the 3" the kit came with. That leveled the vehicle out. Truck looks awesome, but it's had it's problem. I think the kit has some improvements in the design that can be undertaken.
I've had the control arm bushings replaced. But, I've had to have the lower control arm bushings custom made from Polyuretheyne. Chrysler does not sell just the bushings, only the whole control arm at 499.00 each. Noone else sells just the bushings. Seems to be working well, but alittle stiffer ride.
35's work fine on a stock gear change, however, if you have the money, I would goto 4.11 or so. 3.55 (stock) is just sluggish on hills.

Message: Why the hell would you possibly need a 15.5 inch wide tire. other than to rub off your entire wheel well. The 12.5's will be plenty wide enough, especially if you get a rim with more backspacing. Definitly need a lift though. Go with the PA 3 inch body. Its cheaper and it is easy to install yourself. Just takes some time...bout 6 or so hours. You will have a little trimming to do. But then again go ahead and crank the torsion bars a little and you should be straight. stick with the 33x12.5, you will be happy with the look.
