Subject: Truspeed Calibration Question!! IP: Logged
Message: I just installed a Truspeed on my 02' 5.9. My shift points are great, but my speedometer is bouncing around all over the place. I attached it to the ABS plug like it said.
If you have any idea's please let me know.
Thanks,
Corey

Message: It could be a grounding problem. I did not have this problem when I first installed mine TSC, but after all the additions of lights and the retracting side steps I noticed that mine now jumps around when I hit bumps and stuff. I was told that I need to re-ground all the add ons in another location.

Message: That is exactly what I was thinking last night so I drilled a new hole and got a good ground. Drove it around last night and it was still bouncing. Now on my way to work this morning my speedometer sat on 0 and didn't move and my shift points were screwed up. Any ideas Chris?
One thing to note is that I didn't solder the connection to the abs module. Just used crimping. Also, just to make sure, the ABS module is to the right of the mastercylinder correct? I couldn't find it anywhere in my manual.
Thanks,
Corey

Message: Yes that is where it is located and you connected it to the white orange wire, right? I crimped mine as well. I have also disconnected it and reconnected it a couple times. Did you get a good power source?
hooked up like this
Hook the yellow wire to the white orange wire coming out of the wire bundle. Then connect the green wire to the white orange wire coming from the connector just in front of the master cylinder
I have had my tru speed for 2 years now. I frequently switch from one size to another when I swap out the tires for off roading. It is true and accurate to GPS everytime. Maybe you got a bad one.
If it is hooked up right maybe contact superlift to see if yours is bad.

Message: I appreciate your help. It is driving me nuts.
I hooked it up that way. Just to clarify the green and yellow wires. I unplugged the ABS plug on the module. Found the white/orange wire and cut it. I twisted the green wire with the w/o coming from the plug and put it in a splicer. Then took the other w/o wire that was coming from the harness and twisted it with the yellow wire and put it in a splicer. Then connected the two splicers. Plugged it back in and that was it. Did I do something wrong.

Message: Did some more testing.
I reset the box by turning it counterclockwise 15 times. Then turned it the right amount of times clockwise. Checked it with mile markers and it is right on. Brakes seem fine, shift points seem ok, but the speedometer is still screwed up. Now when it is in park it goes all the way to 120mph. Then when I put it in drive it goes back to 0. It does move when I drive, but it bounces all over the place again.

Message: Sounds like you did everything right, could be just a bad calibrator or you may have a issue with something else in the speedo system.
You should get in touch with Superlift.

Message: I called their tech support. The guy didn't know anything. Said he had to call the mfg. oversea's and ask them. He said they would call me back in a couple days. Great tech support. I'm wondering if maybe I should have soldered it. Now my engine light comes on and stays on.

Message: I would say no it does not have to be soldered. Mine is crimp spliced.
Maybe as a long shot reset the computer by doing the disconnect the battery and leave it on a few minutes to clear the computer.
Give it another go and see what happens. It will take 700 miles for the computer to reset fully so if you have to get a smog check or something soon then you may want to wait til after that.
I never had any problems with mine.

Message: I have disconnected the battery a couple times, but didn't leave it off for very long. I will try that and see what happens. Otherwise I will just unplug the fuse connector and wait for a phone call.
Thanks for all your help.
