Subject: lift kit questions IP: Logged
Message: what all would i need to comprise a custom lift kit, would it be better to just buy a 3 inch fabtech or buy all the parts seperate from like AIM? and is it a bitch to install? i need new controll arms anyway and i figured i might as well lift it and get new tires since they quoted me 500 fro new controll arms anyway. i was just wondering what all parts would be needed to get a 3 inch suspension lift, thanks allot, also wheres the best place to buy american racing baja wheels? ive seen them for 99.00, is that hte best price?

Message: 2 or 4-wheel drive? STAY AWAY FROM AIM. THEY MAKE THE KITS FOR TS LIFTS. IF YOU BUTCHER YOUR TRUCK TO INSTALL THE AIM KIT, YOU MIGHT AS WELL ROLL YOUR TRUCK OFF A CLIFF SINCE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT. Do some lift kit searches on this site.

Message: yeah, 2wd, 00 3.9 dak, i was just wonder what all parts come with it total, and what id need to make it all work, or would a fabtech be fine?, thanks a lot. i was just really curious if it is wise to try and buy the parts seperately or if its just more of a pain than its worth because in the fabtech kit eveyrhtings designed to work together

Message: the Fabtech kit are new coil springs, new upper control arms, ball joints for them, shocks all around, and an add a leaf for the rear. Plus all the hardware needed to install it. I got it shipped for about $800 and did the work myself.

Message: $99 for American Racing Baja's is about the norm. I paid $100 a peice for 16 x 8 's Baja's at a local shop. I've seen pep boys try and sell them for $115 a peice. Just search around. Internet sites usually have cheaper prices but you have to pay shipping and handling.
