Message: I think the answer is no. From reading the posts here, it seems that 2" is very near the maximum you can hope for from cranking the torsion bars, and having them at max will decrease their durability or somesuch. Also, you'd have to do something to make up the 2" in the rear, don't forget.

Message: im not worried about the rear, that would be easy to do. what is the most you crank the torsions without tearing something up then.

Message: bad dak, 3-inch body lift=O.K. You will be as happy as big ol' tick on the side of a yellow dog fixin' to pop. Cranking your T-bars 2 inches=Really bad. At the least a rough ride, and at the worst premature ball joint wear and more stress than you want to put on the front suspension. Bad handling. You'll feel like you're floating on top of the road and there's no water on it. I recommend only an inch to an inch and a 1/4. Some folks might not agree with me and have been ridin' around on their T-bars cranked 2 inches and have made it O.K. so far, but I don't want to throw my front suspension geometry off that far. I have mine cranked about 4 turns on either side which gave me about an inch. I stopped there since it became way too hard to turn the T-bar bolts even with both front tires off the ground. I bounced the front-end up and down a few times and double checked my work with a level on the rocker panels. The end result was about an inch of lift, a rougher ride, and poor handling. The truck used to handle better than my dads Taurus, but not anymore. Do a search on this site on Torsion bar lifts. Good Luck!

Message: fyi: just in case someone asks i don't offroad a whole lot if any, so if i cranked them 1.5" would that be safe enough or what. and how many turns of the bolt would i have to turn to get 1.5 inches.

Message: it's a very simple formula on what kind of lift you need. the smaller the penis the bigger the lift. It's just that easy.

so lets try this again,so if i cranked them 1.5" would that be safe enough or what. and how many turns of the bolt would i have to turn to get 1.5 inches.

Message: It depends. Do you have a V8 or V6? Do you have any accessories on the front of your truck? I would say roughly 1.5 inches would be about 6 turns or so. If you don't wheel your truck much and and don't go around ballhootin everywhere you will be fine. Just get an alignment afterwards. Doing this will give your wheels positive camber(bowed in). Like I said before, the closer you get to 2 inches raised or more is bad. 1.5 on down is fine. If you do some measurements before you crank, you'll have something to go by. I.E. from the top of the tire to the middle of the fender is the best. Also from the ground to the outer edges of the front spoiler.

Message: it all depends on how small your penis is. the smaller the penis=the larger the lift needed to compensate.

Message: Daks rule, 98 SLT club cab with a stock suspension you can go with a 32-11.50 if you slightly crank your Torsion bars and or do a little trimming. It depends on how much you off-road and how much you articulate your stock suspension. Stock IFS doesn't travel that far, so if you don't take it too rough you'll be O.K.
